4 Day Clinical Practicum – Provence of France

4-day clinical practicum being held in Provence France next year, from 3 to 6 of May.   This practicum will be open to participants, who would like to further develop their skills in Crucible therapy.  It will also be a great opportunity to meet up and connect with other participants who share the common goal of enhancing their skills in Crucible therapy.  In addition, there will be opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and enjoy the idyllic surroundings of the workshop location.

Please note that this practicum is currently full.

About the practicum:

The practicum will start on Friday 2nd of May at 7 pm with an evening meal (Optional).  The actual dates for the workshop are May 3-6 starting at 9 am each day and finishing at 5 pm.  There will be 75 minutes for lunch.  The practicum will finish at 3 pm on May 6.  There is a possibility for participants to stay an extra night at no extra room cost and leave on May 7.

The Practicum will focus on developing practical skills, and removing blind spots and places where you “get stuck.”  There are opportunities to practice “being the therapist” in clinical simulations and receive feedback and more specific attention from the workshop leader and to consider the “person of the therapist.”

Content of the Practicum focuses around difficult cases submitted by participants involving sexual problems mixed with relationship difficulties.  All participants are invited to submit a real case with which they have or had difficulty. (Although not all cases will be used during the Practicum, all will influence lecture and discussion topics).

Case write-ups consist of 2-3 pages describing the case, the nature of the problem in treatment, why the therapist thinks this problem is occurring, what the therapist has done to deal with the problem, and where the therapist is stuck.  Please include a few paragraphs of typical dialogue from the therapy session.  Selected cases are deconstructed, problems are identified, and new solutions proposed.  Participants will have opportunities to practice making new interventions in therapy simulations.  Practicum group process provides a supportive environment encouraging professional and personal growth.  Cases need to be submitted by 20th of March 2025.

About the location and venue:

The practicum will be held in Provence, which is an amazing place to be in spring.  We will be staying in a stunning holiday home that has 8 bedrooms.  Majority of the bedrooms also have their own bathroom.

We will be having an inhouse cook that will cook and serve all our dinners, and prepare each evening our next day lunches, as well as take care of clearing up.  Breakfast will also be provided, which we will have to clean up ourselves.  There will also be plenty of opportunities for the participants to go for a swim and walk in the beautiful surroundings.
